The “Trauma Oggi” conference, now in its XVI edition, will be held on 20 November 2025 at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli – IRCCS of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome. Organized by the Emergency and Trauma Surgical Unit, this international event brings together a multidisciplinary panel of healthcare professionals from across the globe, including general and trauma surgeons, interventional radiologists, anesthesiologists and Intensivists, emergency physicians, infectious disease specialists, and allied healthcare personnel from pre-hospital and in-hospital systems.
This year’s edition focuses on global trauma surgery, with particular attention to surgical practice in conflict zones, low-resource environments, and high-volume trauma centers, highlighting how surgical principles must be adapted across diverse healthcare ecosystems. Attendees will explore both the technical and ethical challenges of managing trauma in complex settings and resource-variable contexts.
The congress will open with a keynote lecture on Global Surgery, delivered by an internationally renowned expert, setting the stage for a day of scientific exchange and critical reflection on trauma care disparities worldwide.
In summary, the “Trauma Oggi” conference represents an important platform for continuing education and professional development for healthcare providers involved in the management of trauma, surgical emergencies, and related complications, including the challenging field of infections and sepsis. Sessions dedicated to critical literature analysis, sharing clinical experiences, and interactive discussions with experts aim to improve patient outcomes through the adoption of the latest knowledge and technologies in emergency and trauma surgery.
